Alexandra Cran-McGreehin is Head of Secretariat at the Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) and has been at the organisation since 2011. Prior to that, she was a policy advisor at HM Treasury for three years. She worked in several different policy areas including pensions, social care and disability benefits. Most recently, she was a member of the team coordinating Spending Review 2010.

Alexandra started her career as an academic at the University of St Andrews, completing an applied mathematics Ph.D. and postdoctoral research on the northern lights. She then gained a Masters degree in Leadership for Sustainable Development with Forum for the Future. This incorporated work placements at Sustrans, Leeds City Council, HM Treasury, John Laing and the Environmental Finance Magazine.
